ALLELUIA! Once again, we the people of God, gather together to celebrate the mystery of faith: “Christ has died; Christ is risen; Christ will come again.”
Though these words are familiar to each of us the faith which they express is always new.
Today Christians around the world celebrate the rising of Jesus from the dead on that first Easter Sunday.
In a world that has grown weary over violence in our homes and in our streets how necessary it is to pause on this great day, Easter Sunday,
to ponder God’s great love for us by sending Jesus to teach us how to live and how to love. Easter reminds us that goodness triumphs over evil.
Easter reminds us that the Cross was needed and is a necessary sign of the cost of freedom versus slavery to sin.
All persons of goodwill are attracted to the message of Easter because it is message of hope; it is a message of joy.
This Easter Ste. Rose de Lima Parish welcomes all who enter this place of worship.
The celebration of the Eucharist on Easter Sunday calls each person to enter more fully into the risen life of Christ.
All persons seek “the truth” in many and varied ways. Jesus; however, says: “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life.”
The word ‘Easter’ literally means “seeker of the truth.” Christians turn to Jesus, the Risen Christ, to be their “way and truth.”
To all persons who participate in weekly Eucharist: continue to seek Him. To those who have wandered away from the Eucharist, but are here today – welcome!
May your spiritual journey prompt you to celebrate the Eucharist weekly that you might grow in holiness of life and seek Jesus who is the Risen Christ.
Like the apostles at Emmaus, we too recognize Him ‘in the breaking of the bread.’
May the joy and peace of Easter be yours today and throughout this holy season. Sincerely,
